The National Agency for the Transformation and Distribution of Gold and Other Precious Metals (AGENOR) is a strategic player in the valorization, transformation and marketing of precious metals in Algeria.
Placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines, AGENOR endeavors to develop an integrated national gold and jewelry sector, based on modern processes in line with international standards.
Missions and activities
The agency carries out a range of high value-added activities, covering the entire precious metals transformation and valorization chain:
Transformation of gold and other precious metals, including refining, melting, ingot production and shot blasting
Production of gold and silver semi-finished products (wire, sheet, welding, anodes, etc.) intended for the jewelry industry and craftsmanship
Production of precious metallic salts, such as silver nitrate and silver chloride, used in industrial and scientific fields
Recovery and recycling of precious metals from scrap or processing waste
Processing of raw coral, in compliance with traceability and sustainability standards
Marketing of industrial and handicraft products through a national distribution network
Precious metal analysis and expertise provided by a specialized laboratory, endowed with state-of-the-art equipment and certified for the control of the purity and conformity of alloys
