The CEO of Sonarem Group receives the Commercial Counselor of the U.S. Embassy’s Commercial Service in Algeria

The CEO of Sonarem Group, Mr. Reda Belhadj, received on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the group’s headquarters, Ms. Debra K. Martin, Commercial Counselor at the Commercial Service of the U.S. Embassy in Algeria, accompanied by Mr. Kamel Achab, Senior Commercial Advisor, as well as executives from Sonarem Group.

This meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on prospects for cooperation, investment, and partnership in the mining sector, particularly in exploration and mining operations, the valorization of mineral resources, the development of projects using the latest technologies, as well as related infrastructure projects aimed at improving profitability and technical efficiency.

During the meeting, both parties examined ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across the mining sector’s value chain, particularly in the areas of mineral resource extraction and processing, research, and the exchange of expertise and experience, with particular emphasis on training, capacity building, and administrative organization.

On this occasion, Mr. Reda Belhadj presented the group’s vision and development plans for the mining sector in Algeria, highlighting ongoing projects, investment and partnership opportunities, as well as the group’s future orientations regarding the transfer of expertise and modern technologies within the framework of the new Mining Code.

For her part, Ms. Debra K. Martin presented an overview of the tools and support organizations aimed at facilitating exchanges between American and Algerian companies, and discussed ways to strengthen partnerships and sustainable investment projects.

It was agreed to organize videoconference meetings starting in January 2026 in order to promote the exchange of expertise between Algerian and American institutions interested in the mining market, with the aim of strengthening technical and technological cooperation between the two sides.
